Prince Estifanos Matewos, President of the United Africa Royal Assembly and Pan African Parliament Ambassador for Traditional Affairs and Governance has called for unity and action in support of Mozambique's sustainable peace.
On behalf of the Assembly, the Prince has expressed deep concern on the situation unfolding in Mozambique following the recent election results.
He said that the growing divide between leadership and the electorate presents a serious challenge and is clear that the only way forward is through constructive and strategic engagement.
The Prince said that dialogue, mutual respect and a shared commitment to peace and stability are essential to de-escalating tensions and restoring order in the country.
He added that this is a critical moment for Mozambique and for Africa to demonstrate the power of unity and collective action.
The Prince added that Mozambique has faced adversity before and the Assembly is confident that through a united effort and coordinated strategy, the country will rise above the challenge once again.
The Assembly has also called upon the African Union, regional bodies and continental allies across political, diplomatic and security sectors to take immediate and resolute action on the prevailing situation in the country.
