East, Central And Southern Africa Health Community Hold Conference In Lesotho

The forum brought together nine health Ministers to address key health issues facing the region, including emerging diseases and pandemics. Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr Nakhumicha Wafula, emphasized the need for collaboration to tackle health threats, effectively citing COVID-19 as an example. The conference adopted multi-country research on antimicrobial resistance in Africa and discussed ways to strengthen maternal mental health. The ECSA-HC members also focused on identifying relevant health policies and best practices to improve health outcomes in the region. Dr Nakhumicha stressed the importance of working together to combat future health threats and adopting a collaborative approach to address health challenges. The conference provided a valuable platform for ECSA-HC members to exchange ideas, share best practices and find ways to improve health outcomes.
