Nkafu Policy Institute Launces its Flagship Public Policy Analysis Training Course

Public policy plays a crucial role in shaping the future of any nation, especially in a dynamic country like Cameroon. As Cameroon navigates developmental challenges, the need for informed and skilled policymakers has never been greater. In this context, a Public Policy Analysis Course is an essential tool for stakeholders across the public policy ecosystem. By equipping these stakeholders with required knowledge and skills to analyze, evaluate, and design policies effectively, this course aims to improve policy outcomes and enhance governance in Cameroon.

1. Relevance of a Public Policy Analysis Course for Cameroon
   Sustainable development challenges cannot be addressed without rigorous policy analysis. Unfortunately, too often, policies are implemented without proper evaluation of their impacts or with a lack of inclusive stakeholder participation. This Public Policy Analysis Course (PPAC) aims to bridge this gap. By offering a structured, evidence-based approach to policymaking, the course will empower stakeholders to:
   • Analyze the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of existing policies.
   • Design policies that are inclusive, sustainable, and equitable.
   • Understand the social, economic, and political context of policy decisions.

It would provide participants with the understanding of basic concepts of public policy while conferring them needed skills to analyze a policy cycle, including problem identification, formulation, adoption, implementation, and evaluation, the course further aims at drilling participants on:
