Ecobank Sierra Leone on Monday 18th November launched a new savings promotion called ‘’ Kapu Gentri’’ as part of it deposit mobilization campaign in a bid to reward its customers and Xpress Points Agents across the country.
Speaking at the launching of the ceremony on Monday at the bank’s headquarters on Charlotte Street, in Freetown, the Head of Customer Experience, Augustine Sankoh, said that the promotion is about amassing wealth for their customers adding that to qualify for the Ecobank KAPU GENTRI, a customer simply build deposits of up to a minimum of Nle 6000 to qualify for the bi-monthly draw, build up to a minimum of Nle 10,000 to have a shot at the grand draw.
‘’ Perform at least 4 transactions on any of the digital platforms of Ecobank (mobile app, USSD, Ecobank online) and qualify for a draw. Transact at any Xpress Point and watch your chances of winning grow,’’ he said, adding that anyone who transacts Xpress points stand a chance of winning good prices and to be part of the draw.
Managing Director Ecobank Sierra Leone, Sebastian Ashong-Katai, underscored that the bank promotes financial freedom across Africa stressing that they are not just selling financial products to their customers, but they are actually trying to change the lives of the people.
‘’ Today, we are present in over 33 African countries, including Sierra Leone. In Sierra Leone we have 7 branches , 28 ATM’s and 200 Xpress Agents ,’’ he said, adding that they as a bank their distribution and penetration strategy relies heavily on Xpress agents hence the reason they invited them during the Kapu Gentry Promotion as he referred to them as ‘’ true partners’’
He said that the promotion aligns closely with the mission of the bank which is not just to sell products and services but to actually transform the lives of their customers.
‘’ We help to them to amass wealth and transform their lives; this is the commitment we have to our customers in this country. so it’s not simply about trying to collect deposits but anyone who studies economics in a country knows that the level of savings in any economy is an extremely important factor to the development of that economy,’’ Sebastian Ashong-Katai said whilst unveiling the new campaign.
Kate Thompson, Head of consumer banking said that they as a bank through this promo are giving back to their customers whilst engaging them to find a way by which we make sure that we have an offer which is available to all.
‘’ The campaign is a 360 campaign, whereby we have customers being rewarded. Now Xpress point agents also being rewarded and that is what we are going to adore today. The name of the campaign is Kapu gentry. We want to make sure that we embark on prosperity journey with our customers,’’ Madam Kate Thompson stressed.
Sheikh Omar Jalloh, Head of Brand, Communication, and Marketing, on his part said that the campaign will run from November this year to April next year adding that customers can increase their chances of winning by transacting at Xpress Points or receiving RIA and Rapid Transfer transactions directly into their Ecobank accounts.
‘’ We want to urge our customers out here for those of you who have account make sure that you deposit and stand a chance to win . For non Ecobank customers, make sure you open an account through our Xpress Point Agents across our seven branches,’’ Jalloh urged.
Head of Digital Products, Sahr Musuyamasu, stressed the role of Xpress Agents in pushing their products, stating that agents opening a minimum of 15 accounts monthly or mobilizing deposits from customers would qualify for the draw.
