Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) defending champions Gor Mahia have parted ways with its head coach, Sinisa Mihic, with three matches remaining to the end of the 2024/2025 season.
The announcement was made by the club via its social media platforms on Monday, May 19, 2025, evening.
According to the club, the departure of the Croatian tactician was by mutual agreement. The also announced that the two assistants Zedekiah Otieno and Michael Nam will take charge on interim basis as they seek Sinisa’s replacement.
Kogallo expressed their gratitude to the outgoing coach who registered 8 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses for the club in 14 games since taking over three months ago.
The Croatian also led the former champions to the semi-finals of the FKF Cup.
“We have parted ways with head coach Sinisa Mihic on mutual agreement; the two assistants to take charge on interim basis,” read the statement.
The decision to axe Sinisa was reached following the recent lackluster performance by the team. Gor has registered only two wins in the last five games.
Last week, it lost 2-1 to relegation-threatened Nairobi City Stars and last registered a barren draw against Murang’a Seal.
Another reason why the coach was shown the door might be the purported rift between a section of the players and the technical bench.
Gor sits in the third position with 54 points, having played one game less, 7 points behind league leaders Police FC.
