Malawi’s former Minister of Sports and Member of Parliament Moses Dossi has died at the age of 70 after a long illness, Pan African Visions has learnt.
Dossi served during the reign of former President Bakili Muluzi, a time in which he was also Member of Parliament for Chikwawa west constituency, a district that borders neighboring Mozambique.
He reportedly died while receiving treatment at the Adventist hospital, one of the popular private hospitals in the commercial city of Blantyre.
Meanwhile, Fleetwood Haiya, President of the Football Association of Malawi has described Dossi’s contribution to sports are remarkable.
‘’ Over the past decades Dossi was a leader and advisor to many of us who benefited from his deep understanding of the game of football. We shall always remember Dossi as a humble, patriotic, wise and passionate football enthusiast and media professional who dedicated his life to raising the standards of football in Malawi and sports in general,’’ Haiya posted.
His burial arrangements are yet to be known, according to family members.
