Bolt Kenya has launched an innovative initiative to assist flood victims.
The ride-hailing company has partnered with the Kenya Red Cross to launch the "Flood Assist" category on its app, demonstrating a solid commitment to assisting those in desperate circumstances.
“Amidst the aftermath of the destructive floods that have ravaged Kenya, we have taken a significant step forward by introducing an innovative initiative to aid flood victims. Collaborating with the Kenya Red Cross, we have unveiled the “Flood Assist” category on our app,” said Bolt Kenya.
The company has pledged an initial Ksh5 million ($38240) to kickstart relief efforts, to raise Ksh10 million ($76481) through the "Flood Assist" category.
"5% of each ride’s revenue from this category will be allocated towards supporting the victims of the recent floods," stated Bolt Kenya.s
Bolt Kenya emphasizes the importance of collective action by encouraging users to select rides from the app's "Flood Assist" category for contribution purposes.
Funds raised through this initiative will be directed towards providing essential relief aid such as food, shelter, and medical assistance to flood-affected communities.
