Kenyan President William Ruto has announced that Kenya will be a visa-free country effective January 2024.
According to Ruto, anyone from anywhere worldwide will no longer be required to bear the burden of asking for a visa to visit Kenya.
“Kenya will be visa-free beginning in January 2024. It will no longer be required for anyone from any part of the world to bear the burden of applying for a visa in order to visit Kenya,” said Ruto.
The Kenyan leader went on to say that they had come up with a new digital platform to implement the new policy.
The platform would guarantee that all visitors to Kenya are recognized before visiting the East African nation.
He stated that the visitor would be given an electronic travel authorization upon identification.
“Kenya has a simple message for the rest of the world: Welcome Home! As a result, the government has eliminated the need for visas for all of our guests,” added Ruto.
Ruto made the announcements on Tuesday during the Jamhuru Day Celebration at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
