Trinity Group Chair Akol Ayii Bags MIPAD Hall of Fame Award

We are giving a special recognition to someone from the youngest nation in Africa to continue to inspire and make a difference in his country, said Kamil Olufowobi, Founder & President of MIPAD in presenting the award to Akol Ayii,

Trinity Group Chairman Akol Ayii has been named (Most Influential People of African descent) MIPAD's Hall of Fame Award winner.

He received the honour after being named one of the top 100 influential persons under 40 in the Business and Entrepreneurship category for the class of 2023. Ayii made history by becoming the first South Sudanese to be honoured at MIPAD.

"We are giving a special recognition to someone from the youngest nation in Africa. Akol Ayii is also the first entrepreneur from South Sudan to be selected for his contribution. For that, we are pleased to give him this special Hall of Fame recognition to continue to inspire and make a difference in his country," said Kamil Olufowobi, Founder and President of MIPAD.

While receiving the honour, Akol expressed gratitude to his colleagues at Trinity, particularly those who offer care to refugees, support displaced persons, and meet the fundamental needs of our communities.

"I am truly humbled by this recognition, as there are countless individuals in South Sudan, across Africa, and the diaspora who supported our struggle for independence and continue to support our nation-building in various capacities.

I dedicate this award to my incredible team at Trinity Group and, more importantly, to those who work tirelessly every day for our economic growth, often remaining unseen. They are on the front lines providing care to refugees, assisting displaced people, and addressing the basic needs of our communities,” said Mr. Akol.

The 2023 Lifetime Achievement Awards went to Nicole Brown, President of Tristar Picture Sony Pictures Entertainment and Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General, World Health Organisation.

Other recipients were Robert Smith, Chairman & CEO of Vista Equity Partners and Richelieu Dennis, Founder, Executive Chair, and head of Inter, Sundial Group of Companies.

The MIPAD Honorees are people who hold significant leadership positions and are acknowledged as changemakers in more than 60 different nations.

They were chosen for the UN International Decade for People of African Descent based on their political clout, exceptional commercial acumen, large social media followings, and major humanitarian efforts.

The Class of 2023 Global Top 100 Under 40 List was divided into four categories: business and entrepreneurship, media and culture, activism and humanitarian endeavors, and politics and governance.
