Fastjet Zimbabwe Connects Zambia

Fastjet Zimbabwe, the award-winning airline, has announced the introduction of a scheduled flight service from Zimbabwe’s capital city of Harare to Lusaka, Zambia commencing on Wednesday 09 April 2025.The new route will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Fastjet said it will deploy a 50-seater Embraer ERJ145 aircraft for the service. The aircraft type is known to provide the versatility to build a sustainable regional network with the right size capacity while offering customers comfortable seating with generous legroom.

Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Nunurai Ndawana said, “Zimbabwe and Zambia have a symbiotic relationship that cuts across multiple sectors. The introduction of this route attests to our commitment and contribution to further economic and social development of the Zim-Zam region.

For 10 years Fastjet Zimbabwe has been a proud part of the Zimbabwean community and said they are delighted to expand their commitment to Lusaka.

Donahue Cortes, Fastjet Zimbabwe Business CEO and Country Head, said “No other airline gives travellers an early morning flight option on this route. Our flight timings are designed to provide both business and leisure passengers with a full day’s activities in their city of arrival.

He said they continue to focus on developing and growing their business morning flight schedule and the Lusaka early morning departure joins other Fastjet sunrise flights to Bulawayo and Johannesburg..

Fastjet Zimbabwe connects three major cities in Zimbabwe by flying between Harare and Victoria Falls, as well as between Harare and Bulawayo.

In addition, the airline offers international flights from Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls to Johannesburg in South Africa and from Victoria Falls to Mbombela (Kruger) Nelspruit Mpumalanga in South Africa.

Its awards include World Travel Awards in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 2020, 2021 and 2022, Skytrax World Airline Awards in 2017 and 2019, and in the top ten finalists for 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Since commencing operations, Fastjet has flown over 4 million passengers and has established itself as a reliable African airline brand, with a range of value-added products and services.
In 2024 Fastjet Zimbabwe successfully achieved the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration.

According to the airline, the registration acknowledges Fastjet’s conformance and adherence to the highest operational and safety standards in the aviation industry.
