Nairobi, Kenya, will be the host of the prestigious 12th edition of the Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS) slated for September 4-6, 2024, at the newly inaugurated GTC JW Marriott Hotel.

The summit will bring together various stakeholders, including regulators, policymakers, financial industry executives, fintech founders, leading innovators, investors, climate finance experts, and Afropreneurs worldwide.

This year's event promises to be no exception, with attendees representing more than $4.5 billion in private equity and venture capital funding.

The bi-annual summit is traditionally held in April in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the World Bank/IMF Spring Meeting, and in November in various African cities.

Previous editions were held in Lusaka (2023), Cape Town (2022), Cairo (2021), and virtually in 2020, among others.

Nairobi has been chosen as the continental host city in 2024, continuing the tradition of rotating locations.

“We are very pleased to bring our premium summit to the land of MoMo innovation, Kenya and look forward to saying "Karibu Kenya!” to all our international delegates in September. In line of our theme for the year , Fintech in Every Industry, we will be focusing on Fintech's role on Climate Solutions, cross-border trade, e-commerce, mobile money & digital banking, Fintech powering digital health, agritech, mining and economic prosperity as well as investment under AfCFTA,” said Sarah Kuruswo, Lead-USA: Africa Strategic Partnerships for AFTS.

Kenyan policymakers and AfCFTA representatives will deliver keynote speeches at #AFTSNAIROBI2024.

The agenda includes a VIP dinner for speakers and invited guests on the first night, September 4th, followed by panels, workshops, and fireside chats on September 5th and 6th.

One of the summit's highlights will be the presence of a delegation from Prosper's Tech for Trade Alliance and discussions about the AfCFTA's Digital Protocol. Furthermore, the Alpha Expo Pitch Competition and ecosystem tours are scheduled for September 6th, providing an opportunity to showcase innovative fintech solutions.

Industry giants Ecobank and Flutterwave are confirmed sponsors for the event, along with strategic partners the Kenyan Wall Street, Fintech Association of Kenya, Corporate Council on Africa, and the African Media Agency.
