Africans Rising has officially launched the registration for its annual mass mobilization, African Liberation Week (ALW), which will take place from May 19th to 25th, 2025.

This year’s theme, “A Borderless Africa for All Africans,” seeks to continue the momentum of last year’s campaign, advocating for the free movement of people across the African continent. By rallying Africans to champion the cause of a borderless Africa, the event aims to amplify the power of collective action in shaping the future of the continent.

In a statement about the event, Africans Rising stated the importance of building on the progress made in the previous year’s mobilization.

“This year’s African Liberation Week will be a continuation of last year’s efforts to amplify the movement for a Borderless Africa,” the statement reads. “We are rallying Africans across the continent to advocate for free movement, which is essential for the shared prosperity and unity of the African people.”

The African Liberation Week is not just about advocating for the dismantling of physical boundaries; it also underscores key social justice issues affecting the continent.

Africans Rising has identified four sub-themes that will guide the mobilization and the discussions during the week: Pan-African solidarity with African countries affected by conflicts, climate and environmental justice, gender justice, and economic justice.

“We believe that these sub-themes are critical to the advancement of a truly united and free Africa,” the statement continued. “Through partnerships, community actions, and targeted campaigns, we will show the power of collective action in shaping Africa’s future.”

Africans Rising is encouraging its members and all Africans to register and organize activities or events that promote the Borderless Africa campaign and any of the four sub-themes.

“We welcome registration from all Africans, as this is a chance for everyone to make contributions to African Liberation Week,” the statement said. “This is a movement that belongs to all of us.”

Registration for ALW 2025 is open until May 12th, 2025. Participants are invited to sign up through the provided links in their preferred language. Africans Rising is calling on everyone to participate in this important week of advocacy, unity, and action.
