Zimbabwe took an early lead in the third minute after defender Joseph Okumu’s mishap gifted them their lone goal of the day. However, with just two minutes remaining before the halftime whistle, Captain Michael Olunga restored the parity.
In the 62nd minute, Olunga put the team forward with a classical finish.
Subsequently, with four minutes remaining to the final whistle, Olunga sealed the Warrior's fate with the match's third goal.
On their road to the final, the East African heavyweights smashed Malawi 4-0 to book a date with Zimbabwe.
Olunga put Kenya ahead in the first minute before extending the victory in the fourth minute from the spot.
Winger Ayub Timbe scored the third goal in the 83rd minute before John Avire made it 4-0 during the extra time.
