President Kiir Officiates The Swearing-In Ceremony Of Members Of National Election Commission

Juba, 8th January 2024-- President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged the National Election Commission to work around the clock to prepare the country for elections.

President Kiir was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of members of the newly reconstituted National Election Commission. Hon. Michael Makuei Lueth was also sworn in as a member of National Constitutional Review Commission on Monday.

The Chairperson of the National Election Commission, Prof. Abednego Akok Kachuol said the Commission will embark on civic education across the country to achieve peaceful, fair, credible and transparent elections.

According to the Roadmap, South Sudan is expected to hold general elections in December 2024.
