JUBA- South Sudan President Salva Kiir has on Thursday traveled to Riyadh's capital of Saudi Arabia to attend the first Saudi-African leader's summit.
The summit will take place tomorrow, Friday 10th November 2023.
The summit was called by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, aimed at identifying and strengthening areas of political, and socio-economic cooperation between African states and the oil-rich Gulf nation.
According to the office press Secretary, Ms. Lily Adheiu the summit aimed to identify fields for cooperation and build a common vision through knowledge-sharing and experiences while identifying projects and frameworks for improving bilateral and multilateral ties between Saudi and African countries.
The summit will revolve around supporting joint action, enhancing political coordination, addressing regional security threats, and facilitating economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions while bolstering cross& sectoral cooperation.
Kiir is accompanied by several cabinet members and other government officials.
The Juba teams are expected to hold bilateral talks with Saudi officials on a range of issues, including trade, energy, and investment.
