After Tanzania’s Football Champions, Young Africans lost the first leg of the Caf Confederation Cup final against USM Alger 2-1 in rain-drenched last Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in front of a capacity 60 000 crowd, the Champions from East Africa are looking for revenge.
The second leg will be played today Saturday 3, June at the 65 000-seat 5 July Stadium in Algiers.
Young African Tunisian head coach Prof Nasreddine Nabi believed that overcoming a one-goal deficit at USM Alger will be difficult but not impossible.
The former El Merrikh of Sudan coach further said that he cannot promise that the trophy will be coming to Tanzania but he said that as long as there is hope, they will fight for the trophy.
Nabi said that he is very happy to be working with Young Africans, saying that the Club is very big and he believes, they will write good memories together.
However, before meeting with USM Alger last weekend, Young Africans crashed out Nigerians Rivers United 2-0 in Nigeria quarter-finals before held a nil-nil in Dar es Salaam, and in the semi-finals the Tanzanian football giants beat Marumo Gallants 2-1 in South Africa.
Fiston Mayele is the Congolese striker at Tanzania’s Young Africans who is the top scorer in this year’s competition with seven goals and has been linked with a possible move to South African Kaizer Chiefs
