Kenya on Monday recorded their first win in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Harambee Stars beat Amavubi Stars of Rwanda 2-1 in the last Group E match played at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.
Two first half goals from Michael Olunga and Richard Odada were enough for Kenya to end their failed campaign on a high note.
Rwanda’s only goal was put at the back of the net by Niyonzima Olivier in the 67th minute.
The result means Kenya has finished third in the group with 6 points.
Mali leads the group with 16 points and Uganda is second with 9 points.
The East African nation began their campaign against Uganda which ended 0-0.
Stars then suffered a shocking 1-1 draw to Rwanda in their second match.
To add salt to an injury, Engin First charges were humiliated 5-0 by Mali in Morocco before losing 1-0 to the West Africans in the return leg in Nairobi.
