National Cathedral Board Reveals New Date To Meet All Pastors In Accra.

August 23, 2021

By Maxwell Nkansah

The Chairman of the board of trustees for the National Cathedral, Apostle Prof Opoku Nyinah has announced September 5, as the date for which the Board will meet pastors in the capital to explain the relevance of the National Cathedral and the need for them to support this project.

He has revealed that the purpose of the meeting is to ensure that heads of various churches understand the relevance of the National Cathedral so they can help push the agenda of contributing towards its construction.

Prof Opoku Onyinah who was speaking on Sunday night on Asaase Radio on August 22, said that it was important for Ghanaians to join hands in ensuring that this cathedral is constructed as envisaged.

He expressed the hope that the meeting of pastors in the capital will yield a very positive outcome.

Wading into the argument of priority and relevance of the project, Prof Opoku said that ardent critics of this cathedral do not yet have a complete understanding of how impactful the project will be once it is completed.

In his view, issues about the relevance of the project at a time where some Ghanaians are crying of hardship should not be the reason why the construction of the National cathedral should be called off.

He then quoted Mathew 26: 11 where Jesus said “the poor you will always have with you”, to make a point that despite the issues facing citizens in the country, the National Cathedral project will also offer a lot to the nation hence cannot wait.

He urged people who don’t have the financial power to contribute towards the project to pray for those who can.
