Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera expected in Kenya tomorrow

By Samuel Ouma The President of the Republic of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera, will arrive in Kenya for a three-day state visit on Tuesday. In a statement released by the State House on Monday, His Excellency Chakwera will be accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs Monica Chakwera, the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi. The duo will be the Chief Guest at this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations held at Wang'uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County, central Kenya, on Wednesday, October 20 2021. Mashujaa Day, also known as Heroes Day, is a national holiday in the East African nation that is commemorated on October 20 to honour all people who helped to Kenya's independence struggle or positively contributed to the post-independence Kenya. After the event, President Chakwera and his delegation will be officially received at State House, Nairobi, by his hosts, President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, on Thursday, October 21.
