Dr Rutendo Hwindingwi
Divisional Director for East & West Africa at Sage
Dr Rutendo Hwindingwi oversees strategies and operations for Sage in the fast-growing East and West African territories, with an especially close focus on business development.
Rutendo joined Softline Enterprise - a division of Sage - as a new business executive in 2006 and was promoted the role of Divisional Director for Sage Pastel International Division in 2008. From 2000 through 2005, Rutendo held a range of general management and business development posts at a Zimbabwe-based Sage reseller.
Before that, Rutendo was a business systems analyst and consultant at Manica Freight Zimbabwe. He also spent some time with Deloitte & Touche Zimbabwe as a trainee articles clerk.
Rutendo holds an executive diploma in business leadership from the Zimbabwe Institute of Management and a Master of Science in Strategic Management from the UK's Derbyshire Business School.
He also holds a PhD from the University of Witwatersrand, having completed a doctorate on the impact of institutional factors on multinational companies operating in African emerging markets.

Executive Vice-President and Managing Director: Sage South & Southern Africa
As the Executive Vice-President and Managing Director of Sage in South Africa and Southern Africa, Anton van Heerden is responsible for growing Sage’s business across the region.
Before taking this position, Anton was the Managing Director of Sage HR & Payroll, which includes the Sage Pastel Payroll & HR and Sage VIP Payroll businesses. He held this role from 2012 to 2015.
Anton qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 after completing his studies at the University of Pretoria. After a brief tenure with Deloitte in Toronto, he was appointed as financial manager of VIP Payroll and was promoted to the post of Managing Director at Softline VIP Payroll by 1998.
Anton also serves as head of the Sage Payroll Centre of Excellence, where he provides strategic direction to HR and payroll businesses across South Africa and Africa.
