President Samia Suluhu on Sunday, October 2, 2022, made a mini-cabinet reshuffle dropping one cabinet minister and appointing a new minister.

In the new changes announced by the Directorate of Presidential Communication, President Samia has appointed Angellah Kairuki as a Member of Parliament and Ministry of State in the President's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government.
In another appointment, Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax who joined the Cabinet in the last September reshuffle has been moved to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation replacing Ambassador Liberata Mulamula whose appointment was revoked. Prior to the latest appointment, Dr Tax had served as Minister for Defence and National Service.

On the other hand, Innocent Bashungwa becomes the new minister of Minister for Defence and National Service replacing Dr. Tax who shifted to Foreign Affairs. Before the appointment, Bashungwa was a Minister of State in the President's Office (Regional Administration and Local Government).

According to the statement, the new appointees will be sworn in on Monday, October 3 at State House, Dar es Salaam.
