BUEA, Cameroon – The National Assembly of Cameroon has honoured the legacy of the late Solomon Tandeng Muna, a former speaker of the National Assembly, by naming one of its committee rooms after him. ST Muna, whose political career spanned nearly four decades, left an indelible mark on the country’s history.

On January 9, 2025, the Muna family expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this recognition during a visit to the Rt Honorable Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, Speaker of the National Assembly of Cameroon. Born in 1912, the late Solomon Tandeng Muna’s distinguished service began as a member of the Parliament of Eastern Nigeria, representing Southern Cameroon, and as a minister in the government of that region. He went on to serve as a member of the Parliament of Southern Cameroon and later as a member of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Cameroon.
