Zambia:Chief Lundu Takes A Stand Against Child Marriage

Chama District, Zambia - In a bold move to protect the future of his people, Chief Lundu of the Senga people of Chama District of Eastern Zambia has issued a strong warning against child marriages in his chiefdom.

The traditional leader has declared that such practices will no longer be tolerated, as he intensifies efforts to end child marriages and promote education among young people.

As part of his measures, Chief Lundu has instructed his officials to identify young individuals who are at risk of entering into early marriages and ensure they are enrolled back in school.

Furthermore, he has put in place a monitoring system to track their performance and provide support where needed further mentioning that among those he has fished out of marriage,one now a second year in University.

Chief Lundu's stance against child marriages is a significant step forward in the fight against this harmful practice, which has long plagued many communities in Zambia.

By prioritizing education and the well-being of his people, Chief Lundu is setting an example for other leaders to follow.
