Members of the ZAOGA church community, well-wishers and other followers are expected to gather in their thousands in Harare, Zimbabwe on Saturday 4 May,2024,a day dedicated to celebrate the legacy of the late esteemed and one of the country 's esteemed religious leaders.
According to a representative of the ZAOGA church,to mark the celebrations,a walkathon and a musical concert is set to be held at one of the church premises in Harare.
At the key event, various international and local artists are booked to perform and entertain thousands of congregants expected to grace the occasion. One of the major entertainers will be the United Kingdom based Free to Worship group, which is one of the various ZAOGA church communities based in the diaspora and has recorded six albums is expected to provide a stintillating and captivating performance for the audience.
The group jetted into the country yesterday to a resounding welcome at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe international airport.
Local entertainers billed to perform at the show include Sebastian Magacha,Fungisai Zvakavapano, Pastor Haisa, Pastor David Mabvuramiti and Sir Benjamin Rupapa, just to mention a few.
According to a statement released by the church prior to the event, one of the major events of this year's celebrations is the walkathon, which was inspired and founded by Dr Guti to encourage fitness and to promote healthy living.
The walkathon will be held on the 4th of May,2024. It is reported by ZAOGA church that people will be walking in groups.
The target distances are 2,5 to 10kms.The church added that to finish of the walkathon, people will do aerobics with a renowned fitness trainer.
The church adds that the achievements of the late Archbishop have changed people's lives and this has been evidenced by the establishment of various churches in every community in Zimbabwe and in over 169 nations, worldwide.
The church leader was also instrumental in establishing the building of schools, hospitals and a university in the country and abroad.
The church adds that it has roped in private organizations, the business community and government ministries, such as the Ministry of ICTs to train local youths in the city of Chitungwiza on how to use computers on 30 April,2024, putting emphasis on cyber security awareness.
A total of 400 youths up to the age of 45 are expected to benefit from the training initiative. The church also added that the walkathon from the ZAOGA Grange School in Harare is expected to commence from 5 to 10am and the gospel show on 4 May,2024 at ZAOGA Braeside Church will commence at 1pm ending at 9pm in the evening of the same day.
