Kenya:Bus Carrying Students Crashes in Kisumu, Killing One

One student has been confirmed dead, and others have been injured after a bus they were travelling in crashed in Kenya's Lake City of Kisumu.

Chavakali Boys High School students were travelling home on an Easy Coach bus after schools closed for the April holiday.

Reports state that the driver lost control of the bus and hit the guard rails before overturning at Mamboleo Junction.

The Monday night incident also left two students with severe injuries and 32 others with minor ones.

The duo are receiving specialised medical attention at Avenue Hospital Kisumu. At the same time, the rest are admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital. They are all in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the bus driver fled the scene and police are looking for him.

The parents of the victims have arrived at the hospitals to inquire about their children's condition.
