Sierra Leone: Lawyer Sorieba Kargbo Honoured with 2025 Kambia District Humanitarian Award

In a celebration of sellfless service and transformative education advocacy,   has been honoured with the 2025 Kambia District Humanitarian Award  by Youth Initiative for Development in Sierra Leone (YIFOD-SL) . The prestigious award recognises individuals whose impact uplifts communities, and Kargbo’s dedication to education and youth empowerment made him a standout recipient. 

A  Humble Champion’s Gratitude

Upon receiving the award, an elated yet humble Kargbo took to social media, stating: 

“This recognition is not just for me—it’s a testament to the collective effort of everyone who believes in the power of education to change lives. My deepest thanks to YIFOD-SL, my mother, my family, and the incredible team at the Soriebah School Support Foundation for the Less Privileged,  Together, we will keep breaking barriers and lighting the path for children in Kambia and beyond. Education is the foundation of hope, and we will keep building it—one child at a time.” 

Transforming Lives Through Education

Kargbo’s Soriebah School Support Foundation  has been a beacon of hope for underprivileged children in Kambia  Districts  ,  providing  scholarships, learning materials, and mentorship programs.  His work stems from a deep belief that no child should be left behind”—a philosophy he lives by. 

His academic excellence further cements his legacy. As the best male law graduate (2022) from Fourah Bay College ,  Kargbo embodies the power of education- not just for personal success, but as a tool for community transformation.

Community Voices: A Hero Among Them

Local residents applauded Kargbo’s efforts, with one admirer saying: 

“Lawyer Kargbo isn’t just an inspiration—he’s a blessing to Kambia. While many leave for opportunities elsewhere, he returns with solutions, ensuring our children have the future they deserve.”

Another beneficiary shared: 

“Before the foundation, many children here couldn’t afford books or school fees. Today, because of his work, our kids dream bigger. He’s proof that one person’s dedication can rewrite destinies.”
