The Eastern Africa Association will host their Eastern Africa Outlook 2024 on January 25 in London, the United Kingdom.
The Eastern Africa Association is Eastern Africa's leading business organisation for corporations and investors.
Its primary goal is bringing together regionally active companies, promoting and supporting long-term, sustainable trade and investment.
The event will focus on the key geopolitical and macroeconomic themes and indicators likely to impact the business and investment environment in Eastern Africa and the Horn of Africa region in 2024.
The event will be graced by prominent speakers such as Economist Wendy Dobson, Senior Managing Director from FTI Consulting, Prof David Luke, Professor in Practice and Strategic Director - Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa of London School of Economics and John Fraser Walsh, Lead Analyst, Sovereign Risk Group Moody's Investors Service.
Ambassador Edwin Afande, Deputy High Commissioner, Kenya High Commission UK, will also attend.
Topics of discussion will include the outlook for the conflicts in Sudan and DRC, Somalia's arms embargo and debt relief, regional political dynamics, Kenya's and Ethiopia's debt and likely default and implications for businesses and public service.
Other discussion points include Regional economic performance & 2024 outlook, Regional geopolitics & impact on trade and investment: Understanding the effects of recent geopolitical changes, including Somalia's integration into the East Africa Community Climate Change Adaptation and climate Disputes.
