RABAT, Morocco, March 18, 2026 — The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has acknowledged the decision rendered by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeals Committee, reiterating that its appeal was not intended to challenge the sporting merit or performance of any participating teams.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the FRMF emphasized that its appeal was solely driven by the need to ensure the proper application and enforcement of competition regulations. The federation stressed its longstanding commitment to upholding the integrity of the game by promoting clarity in the competitive framework and safeguarding the stability of African football competitions.
The federation further reaffirmed its respect for regulatory processes and governance structures within African football, underscoring the importance of transparent and consistent application of rules across all tournaments.
In the same vein, the FRMF extended commendations to all nations that participated in this year’s edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), describing the tournament as a significant milestone that once again showcased the strength, unity, and growing global appeal of African football.
Looking ahead, the federation disclosed that a more detailed and comprehensive statement will be issued in the coming days following a scheduled meeting of its governing bodies.
