Mitundu, Lilongwe — Acts of kindness often leave the deepest and most lasting impact. For many Malawians, the generosity and compassion of Jane Ansah continue to transform lives in quiet but powerful ways.
One such story unfolded during a gathering of members of the Tiafikile Cooperative in Mitundu, where Missi, the cooperative’s secretary, took the stage to share a deeply personal tribute to the Vice President.
With emotion in his voice, Missi recounted how Dr. Ansah’s encouragement helped spark the idea that eventually gave birth to the cooperative.
“You gave us the idea of coming together to form a cooperative,” he said, reflecting on the humble beginnings of a group that is now steadily building hope and opportunity within the community.
Located in Mitundu in Lilongwe, the Tiafikile Cooperative has begun charting an ambitious path forward. Members are planning to expand into farming and livestock production, determined to create sustainable livelihoods for families in the area.
“We have just started, but we have started with more fire,” Missi said, his eyes shining with determination and optimism about the cooperative’s future.
But beyond the cooperative’s progress, Missi shared a deeply personal testimony of how the Vice President changed his life long before she rose to high office.
He recalled a time when Dr. Ansah, then serving as a civil servant in government, stepped in to pay his university tuition fees when he had little hope of completing his studies.
“That time, you were a civil servant in government,” he said, emphasizing that her act of generosity came without expectation of recognition or reward.
That support enabled him to graduate and pursue a career in education. Today, Missi serves proudly as a secondary school teacher — a journey he says would not have been possible without the Vice President’s intervention.
“I now hold a degree today because of Dr. Jane Ansah’s support,” he said.
Members of the cooperative described Dr. Ansah as a consistent source of encouragement and guidance — someone who continues to uplift communities even while holding one of the nation’s highest offices.
“You have a kind heart, Madame Vice President,” Missi said, his voice filled with gratitude.
Stories like Missi’s reflect the far-reaching impact of the Vice President’s commitment to community empowerment and grassroots development across Malawi.
As the gathering came to a close, Missi offered a heartfelt prayer for the woman whose kindness had helped shape both his personal journey and the future of the cooperative.
“May God bless you, Madame Vice President,” he said.
