Vice President Jane Ansah made an unplanned stop at the DODMA warehouse in Nsanje on Tuesday, 2 December 2025.
Her brief visit took place as she was en route to Chikwawa for a scheduled distribution of food assistance to households facing acute shortages.
The Vice President took time to examine the condition of relief stocks and assess whether supplies were adequately prepared for dispatch.
She engaged with warehouse personnel to understand their operational challenges and to review the systems put in place for storage and distribution.
Ansah stressed that proper handling of relief items is essential because the affected communities depend heavily on timely and well-managed support.
She underscored that government expects diligence and integrity from all officers involved in the response effort.
The Vice President expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by DODMA staff in Nsanje despite the pressure created by ongoing humanitarian needs.

Her unexpected inspection was regarded as a sign of her intention to maintain strict oversight of disaster-management processes.
Following the warehouse check, Ansah continued her journey to Chikwawa, where thousands of beneficiaries are expected to receive assistance under the Lean Season Response Programme.
The visit forms part of her wider Lower Shire engagements aimed at monitoring relief operations and ensuring efficiency across all targeted areas.
