The Vice President of Malawi, Right Honourable Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah, SC, JA (Retired), met with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative Ms. Fenella Frost during a courtesy visit at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.
The meeting served as a platform for both parties to evaluate the progress of ongoing initiatives and explore new areas where cooperation can be expanded.
Their discussions touched on the country’s long-term aspirations, aligning closely with the transformative pillars of the Malawi 2063 vision.
Governance enhancement, resilience-building, social protection frameworks, and sustainable development efforts formed the centre of their conversation.
Ms. Frost reaffirmed the UNDP’s steady commitment to Malawi’s development journey, emphasising the organisation’s readiness to support programmes that uplift communities and strengthen institutions.
She noted that the UNDP values its partnership with Malawi and remains dedicated to helping drive impactful development outcomes.
Vice President Ansah expressed gratitude for the agency’s long-standing collaboration, highlighting UNDP’s critical role in empowering citizens and supporting national systems.
She acknowledged that Malawi’s progress is anchored in strong partnerships rooted in shared developmental goals.
The engagement underscored a mutual resolve to deepen cooperation and scale up initiatives that can accelerate Malawi’s growth trajectory.
Both parties left the meeting with a shared understanding of the importance of coordinated action in advancing the nation’s development agenda.
