Ndindi Mally, lead member of the popular Stage Makers Band, has publicly announced that the group will not perform at the upcoming memorial event for the late Elder Evison Matafale.
The announcement came via Ndindi Mally’s Facebook page, where he explained the band’s decision in clear terms.
He stated that the Stage Makers usually perform together wherever Ma Blacks are present, highlighting the strong bond between the band and their audience.
However, Mally noted that attempts by DJ Rockers to disrupt their sound system during past events, described as “opondeleza,” have caused frustration and prompted the band to reconsider performing at certain venues.
Because of these previous disruptions, the band has warned fans and organisers that they will not play at Elder Evison Matafale’s memorial unless the organisers ensure proper arrangements and respect for their performance.
Ndindi Mally reminded fans that their commitment to performing is tied to professionalism and maintaining a smooth experience for their audience.
He also stressed the importance of preserving the dignity of the memorial, noting that Elder Evison Matafale was a Rasta, just like the band members themselves.
The Stage Makers expressed “blessed love” to their fans, assuring them that their loyalty and shared values will remain central to any future performances.
Mally’s statement serves as both a caution to event organisers and a reminder of the band’s dedication to quality and respect in live performances.
Fans and supporters have taken to social media to react, with many expressing understanding and urging organisers to make the necessary arrangements to host the band appropriately.
