Vice President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah SC, JA. (Retired), took officials by surprise with an early visit to the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, 21 November 2025.
The unannounced inspection enabled her to meet with DoDMA personnel and observe the department’s operations firsthand.
During her engagement, Vice President Ansah highlighted the pressing nature of the work being undertaken and urged staff to maintain focus on key priorities.
Officials briefed her on current disaster management programmes, challenges, and strategies to improve responsiveness across the country.
Her visit underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring that disaster management initiatives are efficiently implemented for the benefit of all communities.
