Amadou Gallo Fall, President of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), has been honoured with the Innovation Award at the prestigious Best of Africa (BoA) Awards 2025, a ceremony that brought together some of the continent’s most influential trailblazers across sports, entertainment, business, and philanthropy.
Held in London, the 2025 edition of the BoA Awards celebrated the transformative work of Africans at home and in the diaspora—leaders whose influence continues to shape global culture, industry, and social impact. For Fall, a pioneer in professionalising basketball across the continent through the BAL and a longstanding figure within the NBA’s global ecosystem, the recognition was both deeply personal and powerfully symbolic.
“This Award Belongs to Africa’s Youth”
In a statement following the ceremony, Fall expressed profound gratitude and humility, dedicating the award to young Africans whose creativity, ambition, and resilience continue to drive continental progress.
“This award is not mine alone, it belongs to Africa’s youth,” he said.
“May it remind you that your brilliance is not accidental, your dreams are valid, and your talent, anchored in discipline and purpose, has the power to transform the world.”
He lauded the organisers and partners of the BoA Awards for creating a platform that uplifts and connects African excellence. Special appreciation went to Rene Awambeng, celebrated for his leadership and curatorship of an event that has become a global beacon for African achievement, and to multifaceted entertainer Eddie Kadi, who hosted the evening with trademark vibrance and humour.
