The appointment was announced yesterday, October 7th 2025, by FIFA.
The Laws of the Game serve as the universal framework that regulates football competitions worldwide. Updated annually by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), they define all aspects of the sport, from match duration and player conduct to the use of VAR technology and the responsibilities of referees.
As Vice President of the commission, Samuel Eto’o will play a key role in shaping, interpreting, and modernising these regulations to meet the evolving demands of global football.
The appointment further cements Cameroon’s growing presence in FIFA’s leadership. As Prosper Nkou Mvondo, member of the FECAFOOT Executive Committee, has been named to FIFA's Institutional Relations Commission.

Céline Eko, Vice President of FECAFOOT, joins the Women’s National Teams Competitions Commission, while Sophie Beyala has also been appointed to the FIFA Development Commission.
