Kenya has qualified for the CHAN 2024 quarter finals after beating Morocco in their third match played at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
The Harambee Stars shocked the two-time champions with a 1-0 victory to book their space in the next round with one match remaining.
Forward Ryan Ogam scored the only goal in the 42nd minute, sending the fully packed stadium into a wild celebration. However, the East African nation was reduced to 10 men in the extra time of the first half after Crispine Erambo was red-carded.
Following the win, Kenya moves to the top of the group with seven points. The Stars beat the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 1-0 in their opening match before drawing 1-1 with Angola in the second match.
DRC and Morocco are second and third in the log, respectively, with three points each. Angola is fourth with one point, and Zambia is in the fifth position with zero points, having played one game. Angola will face Zambia in another match in the evening.
Kenya will meet Zambia next Sunday in their last match of the group.
