President Lazarus Chakwera is facing criticism for cancelling former President Arthur Peter Mutharika’s planned Christmas Day visit to Mangochi District Hospital. Reports suggest that Mutharika had intended to visit patients at the hospital as a goodwill gesture and had made arrangements weeks ahead of time. However, his plans were thwarted when the Mangochi District Commissioner received orders to cancel the visit after President Chakwera announced his visit to the same hospital on Christmas Day.
