BUEA, Cameroon – Cameroonian striker Katche Boris Fon has embarked on a promising new phase in his football career, signing with Telecom Egypt SC, one of the wealthiest and most ambitious clubs in Egyptian football. The news was officially confirmed after weeks of negotiations, as Boris, known for his prolific goal-scoring abilities, secured a three-year contract with the club, also known as Itesalat.

Katche Boris shared his excitement, posting, "A new chapter! Let's do this together. Faith." Telecom Egypt SC, founded in 2006 and backed by the national telecommunications company, has set its sights on promotion to Egypt's top-tier league.

With vast financial resources and state-of-the-art training facilities, they are known for attracting top talent and investing in player development, similar to Cameroon’s own telecommunications giant Camtel. Boris joins the club with the primary aim of bolstering their attacking lineup and helping the team achieve their goal of competing in the Egyptian Premier League.

Katche Boris, formerly of Bamboutos Football Club de Mbouda, has been a target of Telecom Egypt since his days at Rangers FC of Bamenda, where he topped the goal charts in Cameroon’s Elite 2 league. His record with Bamboutos in the Elite 1 league last season—scoring an impressive 17 goals—caught the attention of the Egyptian club, who saw him as a perfect fit for their plans. Telecom Egypt approached Boris’ agent two months ago, presenting a compelling offer that would support both his professional growth and financial stability, Sports journalist Rene Katche said.

“I'm very excited to begin this new journey in my career,” Boris said. “I’m grateful to TEG for this wonderful opportunity that will no doubt foster growth in my young career,” he added in a phone call with his communicator, Rene Katche. The deal includes a substantial salary package and comprehensive logistical support, ensuring Boris can focus on his game.
