A Russian Innovation Centre has launched an unmanned taxi in Kenya.
The Russian Embassy in Kenya made the announcement. The embassy said the innovation centre will join forces with local partners.
The testing of the flying taxis will be done in a few selected areas before being extended to other areas.
“Russian innovation center together with the local partners begins testing of the Hi-Fly unmanned Taxi in Kenya! The first flights will be operated en route Nairobi (Wilson) – Diani (Ukunda),” said the embassy.
Kenya’s introduction of flying taxis will make it one of a small group of countries worldwide that have operational autonomous drone taxi services.
Other countries are the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Singapore, New Zealand, and China.
