Kenyan Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has urged the African Union to advise its member states to break diplomatic ties with Israel.
In a statement, the Kisumu Governor decried the ongoing Isreal-Palestine war, saying the conflict is affecting several countries across the world.
Governor Ny’ong’o accused Israel of worsening the already graven humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank.
“It is now clear that Zionist Israel, much against the interest of all progressive forces in the Arab world and Israel Herself, is planning a major bloody invasion of Gaza and the West Bank sooner rather than later,” said Governor Ny’ong’o.
He warned African progressive forces not to watch the Israel-Hamas crisis escalate.
“We would like to appeal to the African Union to call upon all its member governments to immediately break diplomatic relations with Isreal in solidarity with our comrades in Gaza and the West Bank.”
Reports indicate that more than 12000 people, including children, have been killed since the war between the two nations erupted on October 7.
Thousands have been reported missing, and property whose value has not been established has been devastated.
