The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on November 14 unveiled the preliminary nominees for the various women’s categories for the CAF Awards 2023.
The nominees were chosen by a renowned panel of CAF Technical Experts, Legends, and selected media representatives.
They were chosen based on their performance levels from December 2022 to November 2023.
Ten players are up for the inaugural CAF Women's Goalkeeper of the Year award.
In the other categories, 30 players will compete for the renowned Player of the Year award, which Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala won for a record fifth time during the previous Awards Gala in Rabat, Morocco, in July 2022.
There are ten nominees for Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year, and Young Player of the Year, all of which are limited to players under the age of 21.
Furthermore, each finalist in the current CAF Women's Champions League Cote d'Ivoire 2023 has been awarded a spot in the Club of the Year category.
The winner in each category will be determined by a voting panel comprised of CAF Technical Committee members, media professionals from Member Associations, Head Coaches and captains of Member Associations, and teams participating in the group stages of the Interclub tournaments.
The Awards Gala will be held on December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.
