This year’s edition of the African Energy Week conference will take place at the Cape Town International Conference Center, expanding opportunities for networking and deals.

The African Energy Chamber (AEC) is proud to announce that the continent’s premier event for the energy sector, African Energy Week (AEW) 2023, has moved to the world-renowned Cape Town International Conference Center (CTICC). Taking place on October 16-20, the move falls under a multi-year deal signed with the CTICC and significantly expands opportunities for delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. Stakeholders from all over the globe are preparing to make their way to Cape Town for this year’s edition of the AEW conference, and with the move, AEW 2023 has ensured that the event is capable of hosting bigger crowds, offering larger exhibition floors and providing a multitude of opportunities for billion-dollar deals to be signed.

AEW has rapidly emerged as the conference of choice for Africa’s energy community. The event is catered towards investment and engagement, and witnessed over $2.5 billion dollars-worth of deals signed during the 2022 edition alone. Growing year by year, AEW now hosts the largest lineup of African energy and petroleum ministers as well as national oil companies, and represents the official meeting platform for African governments and policymakers. Representatives from major producing countries including Angola, Nigeria, South Sudan, Algeria and Congo participate in the conference while burgeoning markets such as Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast and Senegal take part. This high-level commitment has seen a wave of regional cooperation kick off and speaks to the caliber of the event as the official energy conference for Africa.

Additionally, a strong slate of investors, technology providers and thought leaders from across the international energy sector consider AEW to be the official energy dealmaking platform in Africa. The event attracts representatives from high-level organizations such as the Gas Exporting Countries Forum; the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries; the African Petroleum Producers Organization and many more, while international oil companies such as TotalEnergies, Eni, ExxonMobil, Chevron, bp and others participate with the aim of inking large-scale agreements. AEW provides the best platform for investors to be connected with opportunities; for energy and service companies to partner; and for Africa to drive its own narrative about the energy transition, advancing energy security and the future of the sector.

However, the event’s opportunities transcend dialogue with AEW featuring a world-class platform for energy companies, technology leaders and more to showcase their projects and advertise their brands. The move to the CTICC not only broadens program opportunities but significantly expands options for exhibitors. The CTICC has long-represented a highly attractive conference venue owing to the range of facilities on offer. Representing a world-class exhibition trade show complex, the CTICC comprises over 21,000 m² of dedicated exhibition space; offers 10 exhibition halls, meeting rooms and ballrooms; and additionally features an auditorium room catered to hosting thousands of delegates.

At the center of conference activities is investment, and with the move to the CTICC, AEW offers opportunities for sign deals like no other conference in Africa. Alongside the exhibition floor, AEW will host a variety of meeting rooms; an African Export-Import Bank-organized deal room; a strategic conference and networking summits. Additionally, the main conference will now take place at the CTICC, so will the AEW Gala Dinner.

“AEW 2023 is the place to sign deals and accelerate the pace of development in Africa’s energy sector. Our partnership with the CTICC underscores this objective, and we are proud to be moving to the venue this year as part of a multi-year deal. The CTICC has a long-history of hosting world-class events and as AEW grows as a platform, the venue emerged as the obvious choice. With the move, AEW 2023 has expanded its offering for exhibitors, delegates, investors and sponsors. We look forward to welcoming stakeholders from across the regional and global energy sector to AEW at the CTICC, and are committed to facilitating the deals and investment that will make energy poverty history by 2030,” states NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the AEC.

AEW 2023 is only two months away, but there is still time to secure your place at the highly-anticipated event. Sponsorship and attendance opportunities are still available but are filling up fast. Purchase your delegate pass today and be part of the African energy renaissance.

AEW is the AEC’s annual energy event which unites African policymakers and governments with global investors and project developers. The 2023 edition takes place from October 16-20 at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, and thereafter across multiple venues including the CTICC. For more information, visit www.aecweek.com
