Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has met and held talks with Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank Regional Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa.
Victoria Kwakwa who is a Ghanaian economist and former WB vice president for East Asia and the Pacific between April 2016 and August 2021 met President Samia in Dar es Salaam.
Kwakwa who was also served as country director of the World Bank in Vietnam before her current position in Africa attended Africa Human Capital Heads of State summit held at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.
However, speaking at the sideline of the Africa Human Capital Heads of State summit, the World Bank’s Regional Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa said without navigating the human capital crisis successfully, African societies and economies there is a risk being trapped in a detrimental cycle of stagnant growth, soaring poverty rates, and increasing inequality.
