Tanzania: Egyptian Club Open To Signing Congolese International Mayele For U$400,000

After having a brilliant form for Tanzania’s Young Africans SC for the last two seasons across all competitions, striker Fiston Mayele has agreed to join the Egyptian side, Pyramids.

Tanzania champions find it difficult to resist a U$400,000 as an offer for their top striker Congolese Mayele.

The Congolese forward aged 29 walked away with the top Tanzania’s goal scorer award after notching 17 goals in the league.

Mayele who elected best African player of the month for September 2022 by the Foot Africa ahead of Boulaye Dia, Dango Ouattara and Seko Fofana will join Pyramids end of this month.

He most recently played for TP Mazembe in the Congolese Linafoot league and DR Congo national football team Fiston Kalala Mayele finished season of 2020-21 as a runner up in top scorers list of Congolese Premier League famous known as Linafoot. Young Africans signed him On (1 August 2021) For two-year contract.

Fiston Kalala Mayele became the Green & Yellow fans hero after scoring his first goal for the club on a Charity Shield game versus their arch-rivals Simba SC in front of full capacity 60,000 attendants in Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium. Which was the only goal.

Mayele: The 29 year-old who has born in Mbuji-Mayi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is currently on the books of Young Africans SC in Tanzania, having scored more than 33 goals for the club in two seasons.

Mayele contributes as Young Africans make historic CAF CC final

Mayele starred with a goal and an assist as Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga) qualified to the final of the 2022/23 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup for the first time ever, with a 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants in South Africa.

The victory at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium saw them progress 4-1 on aggregate, having won 2-0 in the first leg played in Dar es Salaam.

They become only the second Tanzanian side to make the final of a Continental showpiece, with arch rivals Simba having qualified for the final of the then CAF Cup in 1993. In the modern era of the CAF continental matches, they are the first ever Tanzanian team to make a final.

Mayele scored the opener for Yanga at the stroke of halftime when he ran down the left on a well-orchestrated counter attack. His initial effort was saved by the keeper, but he followed up the rebound to tap home from close range.
