Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has on Sunday May 7, 2023 met her counterpart Namibia's Hage Geingob in Windhoek ahead of the Southern African Development Community (SADC)’s Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit and SADC Troika Plus Force Intervention Brigade (FIB) Troop Contributing Countries
The SADC’s Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit and FIB will be held at the Namibia’s capital Windhoek, on 08 May 2023.
The Summit will be attended by Heads of State and Government from the United Republic of Tanzania, Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia.
The SADC Organ Troika comprises the Republic of Namibia, Chair of the Organ; Republic of Zambia, Incoming Chair of the Organ and Republic of South Africa, Outgoing Chair of the Organ.
The SADC Troika consists of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Chair of SADC, Republic of Angola, Incoming Chair of SADC, and Republic of Malawi, Outgoing Chair of SADC.
The FIB Troop Contributing Countries include Malawi, South Africa and the United Republic of Tanzania.
However, the main objectives of SADC are to achieve development, peace and security, and economic growth, to alleviate poverty, enhance the standard and quality of life of the peoples of Southern Africa, and support the socially disadvantaged through regional integration, built on democratic principles and equitable and sustainable development.
