By Jorge Joaquim The construction of four one-stop border posts along the highway linking Mozambique and Malawi will start in 2024, to simplify border control procedures and speed up the clearance of goods. A consultant has already been hired for the Mandimba border in Niassa, while the selection process is underway for the remaining three borders of Milange in Zambezia, Zóbuè and Calómuè in Tete, said the Mozambique government’s southern Africa infrastructure, trade and connectivity coordinator, Paulo Baúque. There was $30m available from the World Bank for the last three borders and works will take two years, he added. Meanwhile, the works have already been concluded on the Malawian side, in Dedza and Mwanza which border Calómuè and Zòbuè respectively.
