By Badylon Kawanda Bakiman The President of the Court of Appeal of Kwilu, Baudouin Kipaka, recently cut the symbolic ribbon to officially inaugurate the headquarters of the "Kwilu Bar" in Kikwit, the economic and political city of the Kwilu Province in the southwest of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Ceremony was witnessed by the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Kwilu; the President of the aforementioned bar as well as other judicial and some distinguished guests from several corners of the province. This building which constitutes the headquarters of the ''Kwilu Bar'' was built on our own funds. The work had started 2014 and everything is completed in 2023, explained the organizers. "It took a lot of courage, determination to achieve this work. Started since 2014, we are finally, in 2023, arrived at the end of these labors. All the flowers go to the President of the Bar and the ''Council of the Order''. We can still say that the "Kwilu Bar" is indeed the Latin Quarter. We take this opportunity to invite all the lawyers to appropriate this work made with the sweat of our foreheads", underlined Mr. Feba Ingadio, one of the deans of the local section. For his part, the president of the Kwilu Bar Association, Epota Monama, indicated that 36 years ago, to the day, the bar association of the ex-Bandundu was created. It is one of the old bars of the Democratic Republic of Congo. "This bar has had its ups and downs. As time went by, this bar association grew. All those who have led this bar have each made a contribution," he added. As for him, the first president of the Court of Appeal of Kwilu, welcomed this achievement, because, according to him, he followed attentively the evolution of the construction of this building during the four years that he spent at the Court of Appeal of K''wilu. After the investigations carried out, the results reveal that the building of the "Kwilu Bar" is the first, if not the best in the DRC. So the building of the bar of Kananga in the center of the country, currently occupies the second place", he declared while inviting the president of the "Bar of Kwilu" and his team to set up a website in order to promote the activities of the bar and what will happen in this house. Several other speeches followed in the sense of encouraging the initiative and the result. It was also an opportunity for several lawyers to take or renew their oaths before the Court of Appeal of Kwilu during a hearing.
