By Prosper Makene [caption id="attachment_104422" align="alignnone" width="1280"] Tanzanian President in a group photo with government senior officials and stakeholders at Dar es Salaam[/caption] Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, witnessed the signing of 26 contracts worth Tsh 1.9trilion for implementing National Grid Stabilization and Rural Energy Agency (REA) projects. Speaking shortly after the signing of the contracts at the State House in Dar es Salaam, President Samia ordered the contractors of the project to fulfil their duties properly. She further said that a total of Tsh 500 billion has already been released for power stabilization projects of which out of the said amount, the state has already disbursed Tsh 400 billion while Tsh 100 billion others contributed by the IMF. The signing of contracts came at this time when the East African country aiming at boosting its energy sector. The Head of State has also called state officials to avoid falling into traps and bureaucratic chains that would lead to the delay of such important projects. Samia went on to order the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat to allow organizations that are capable of paying salaries to workers without depending on the government to do so in order to avoid delays in the projects.
