Tanzania : President Samia Shakes Up Cabinet

By Prosper Makene [caption id="attachment_104441" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Dr Hassan Abbasi, the newly appointed Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources[/caption] Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has on Tuesday February 14, 2023 made a minor cabinet reshuffle whereby Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports Mohamed Mchengerwa have been shifted to be the Minister of Tourism and Natural Resources. Mchengerwa is taking over Dr Pindi Chana who has been shifted to the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports. A State House's press statement made available on Tuesday evening said that President Samia has also shifted Dr Hassan Abbasi, Permanent Secretary Culture, Arts and Sports to the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources. Dr Abbasi who was also worked as Chief Government Spokesperson previously before being named a permanent secretary at Ministry of Culture is taking over Proffesor Eliamani Sedoyeka. The Head of State has also appointed Said Othman Yakub as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports. Yakub replaces Dr Abassi who has been shifted to the Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources. The State House statement concluding by saying that the newly appointees will take oaths of offices tomorrow on Wednesday 15th February 2023.
