Dadaab Deputy County Commissioner Kipkirui Siele confirmed the Tuesday morning incident. The incident happened when a speeding vehicle carrying Border Patrol Unit members was hit. Al- Shabaab militants are suspected to be the masterminds of the attack. Over the years, reports of numerous such occurrences with the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab have been made in various regions in Kenya. On occasion, terrorists attack security agencies by planting explosives along their routes. The incident on Tuesday occurred shortly after police in Fafi thwarted two alleged Al Shabaab terrorists from installing IEDs along the Sedahgose-Amuma road. This is the second attack in Garissa this year. On January 11, three persons were killed when their pick-up truck hit an IED in Hailey, Bura East constituency.
